Homemade Frozen Hot Chocolate: 5-Minute Easy Drink

  • Author: Karina
  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 2 servings 1x

Description

A thick, velvety, and rich frozen hot chocolate made with real cocoa powder, whole milk, and heavy cream. This easy 5-minute blender drink is a creamy alternative to store-bought versions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1.5 cups ice
  • 23 tablespoons maple syrup or honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • Optional: ½ teaspoon espresso powder

Instructions

  1. Ensure milk and heavy cream are cold. Measure out cocoa powder, sweetener, vanilla, and ice.
  2. Add milk, heavy cream, cocoa powder, sweetener, vanilla, and salt to the blender.
  3. Pulse the blender once or twice to mix the cocoa into the liquid.
  4. Blend on low speed, gradually increasing to high, for 60-90 seconds until smooth and slushie-like.
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness or salt if needed.
  6. Pour immediately into glasses and serve.

Notes

For best results, use cold ingredients to prevent dilution. If the drink is too thick, add a splash of milk. If too thin, add more ice. This drink is best served immediately as it melts quickly.
