Description
A creamy, tangy, and sweet whipped feta dip that requires only a few ingredients and minimal effort. Perfect for entertaining, this no-cook appetizer is ready in minutes and looks gourmet.
Ingredients
- 8 ounces feta cheese (block packed in brine, drained)
- ½ cup plain Greek yogurt (full-fat)
- 2 ounces cream cheese (room temperature)
- 1 clove garlic (minced)
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 2–3 tablespoons hot honey (for garnish)
- ¼ cup toasted pistachios (chopped, for garnish)
- Pinch of red pepper flakes (for garnish)
- Extra virgin olive oil (for drizzling)
Instructions
- Drain the feta cheese in a fine-mesh strainer to remove excess brine. Mince the garlic and chop the pistachios.
- Add the drained feta, Greek yogurt, cream cheese, minced garlic, lemon juice, and olive oil to a food processor.
- Pulse a few times to break up the feta, then blend continuously for 30-60 seconds, stopping to scrape down the sides with a spatula, until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy.
- Transfer the dip to a serving bowl. Cover and refrigerate for 15-20 minutes to allow flavors to meld and the dip to firm up slightly.
- Drizzle generously with hot honey, sprinkle with toasted pistachios, red pepper flakes, and a final drizzle of olive oil.
- Serve immediately with warm pita bread, crackers, or raw vegetables.
Notes
Ensure cream cheese and yogurt are at room temperature for a smooth texture. Do not over-blend to avoid incorporating too much air. The dip can be made up to 3 days in advance; store in an airtight container in the fridge. Let sit at room temperature for 10 minutes before serving if it has firmed up. Do not freeze as the dairy texture will separate.
