Ultra-Creamy Frozen Strawberry Banana Smoothie

  • Author: Karina
  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 2 servings 1x

Description

A thick, creamy, and protein-packed breakfast smoothie made with frozen strawberries, bananas, and Greek yogurt. It rivals a milkshake in texture but provides a nourishing, fast meal for busy mornings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 medium frozen bananas (sliced, approx. 300g)
  • 1.5 cups frozen strawberries (approx. 150g)
  • 1/2 cup plain full-fat Greek yogurt (approx. 120g)
  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup milk (whole, almond, or oat)
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Optional: 1 handful spinach, 1 tablespoon chia/flax seeds, 1 tablespoon peanut butter

Instructions

  1. If not already frozen, slice bananas and spread on a baking sheet; freeze for at least 2 hours. Freeze strawberries in a bag.
  2. Add milk to the bottom of the blender jar first to help blades spin freely.
  3. Add Greek yogurt, vanilla extract, and honey (if using) to the blender.
  4. Add frozen bananas and strawberries on top.
  5. Blend on low setting for 30 seconds to break down fruit, then increase to high speed.
  6. Blend for 45-60 seconds until completely smooth and thick like soft-serve ice cream.
  7. Taste and adjust sweetness with more honey or tartness with lemon juice if needed.
  8. Pour into glasses and serve immediately.

Notes

Use frozen fruit for thickness; fresh fruit requires ice cubes. Do not over-blend to avoid a frothy texture. For meal prep, freeze fruit portions in bags ahead of time. If the smoothie is too thick, add milk gradually. If too thin, add more frozen fruit or ice.
