Sugar-Free Blueberry Lemonade: 5-Step Easy Summer Drink

  • Author: Karina
  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

A refreshing, naturally sweetened summer drink made with fresh blueberries, lemon juice, and sparkling water. This sugar-free lemonade is ready in 10 minutes and offers a complex, tart-sweet flavor profile without refined sugar.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh blueberries (300g)
  • 3 large lemons (yielding about 3/4 cup or 300ml juice)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 12 teaspoons stevia or monk fruit (optional, to taste)
  • 46 cups sparkling water (11.5 liters)
  • Ice
  • Extra blueberries for garnish
  • Lemon slices or mint sprigs for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place 2 cups of blueberries and 1/2 cup of water in the bottom of a large pitcher.
  2. Muddle the blueberries with a muddler or fork for 2-3 minutes until they are smashed and the water turns purple.
  3. Squeeze 3 lemons to extract about 3/4 cup of fresh juice and add it to the pitcher with the muddled berries. Stir to combine.
  4. Taste the mixture and add stevia or monk fruit one teaspoon at a time, stirring and tasting until desired sweetness is reached.
  5. Add 2 cups of sparkling water and stir gently to avoid losing carbonation. Adjust with more sparkling water or blueberry base if needed.
  6. Refrigerate for at least 15 minutes or serve immediately over ice.
  7. Fill glasses with ice, pour the lemonade over the ice, and garnish with fresh blueberries and lemon slices.

Notes

For best results, use cold ingredients to keep the drink refreshing. If you dislike seeds, strain the blueberry-lemon mixture before adding sparkling water. The blueberry-lemon base can be made up to 3 days in advance and stored in the fridge; add sparkling water just before serving to maintain carbonation. Frozen blueberries can be used if thawed slightly first.
