Healthy Apple Nachos with Peanut Butter Drizzle

  • Author: Karina

Description

A quick, 5-minute healthy dessert featuring crisp apple slices topped with a warm peanut butter drizzle, dark chocolate chips, granola, and sea salt.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 large crisp apples (such as Honeycrisp or Granny Smith), washed and sliced into wedges
  • 1/2 cup (120g) natural creamy peanut butter
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips (semi-sweet or 60-70% cocoa)
  • 2 tablespoons granola
  • Pinch of sea salt flakes
  • Optional: Chopped walnuts or pecans, cacao nibs, or toasted coconut flakes

Instructions

  1. Wash apples thoroughly and slice into 1/2-inch thick wedges. If not serving immediately, toss with a teaspoon of lemon juice to prevent browning.
  2. Arrange apple slices in a single layer on a large serving plate.
  3. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine peanut butter, honey, and coconut oil. Stir to mix.
  4. Microwave the mixture for 15 seconds, stir vigorously, then microwave for another 10 seconds. Stir again until the mixture is smooth and pourable. Avoid overheating to prevent separation.
  5. Drizzle the warm peanut butter mixture over the apple slices.
  6. Sprinkle dark chocolate chips, granola, and a pinch of sea salt flakes over the top.
  7. Serve immediately while the chocolate is slightly soft and the peanut butter is warm.

Notes

Use cold apples for better texture contrast. Ensure peanut butter is natural (peanuts and salt only) and stirred before measuring. Do not over-microwave peanut butter or it will separate. Best eaten immediately; leftovers may cause apples to brown and drizzle to harden.
