  • Author: Karina
  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x

Description

A quick and easy 5pm dinner hack featuring crispy baguette slices topped with garlic parmesan butter, drizzled with honey and flaky salt. Ready in 15 minutes with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large French baguette or 4 cups sliced crusty bread (sliced into ½-inch rounds)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon flaky sea salt
  • Optional: ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary or thyme, chopped
  • Optional: 2 ounces prosciutto or salami, sliced
  • Optional: ¼ cup walnuts or pecans, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Slice the baguette into ½-inch thick rounds.
  3. Spread a thin layer of softened butter on both sides of each bread slice.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and dried oregano (add red pepper flakes or fresh herbs if using).
  5. Generously sprinkle the cheese mixture over one side of each buttered bread slice, pressing gently to stick.
  6. Place bread cheese-side up on the baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden brown and cheese is bubbly. Watch closely to prevent burning.
  8. Remove from oven and immediately drizzle with honey while the bread is hot.
  9. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
  10. Serve immediately while warm and gooey.

Notes

Use freshly grated Parmesan for best melting results. Garlic powder is preferred over fresh garlic to prevent burning. Flaky sea salt provides essential texture contrast. Honey should be drizzled after baking to maintain stickiness. Can be frozen (without honey) for up to 1 month and reheated.
