Description
Rich, fudgy brownies made with boxed mix and stuffed with gooey Nutella centers for a decadent, easy-to-make dessert.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 box (18-19 oz) dark chocolate brownie mix
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1/3 cup water
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 jar (13 oz) Nutella
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)
- Pinch of sea salt (optional, for topping)
- Whipped cream (optional, for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides, and grease lightly.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine brownie mix, vegetable oil, water, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until just combined; do not overmix.
- Scoop out about 15-20 dollops of Nutella (1 teaspoon each) and place them on a plate.
- Spread half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan to create a base layer.
- Place the Nutella dollops on top of the batter, spacing them about 1 inch apart.
- Cover the Nutella dollops with the remaining brownie batter, spreading gently to ensure they are mostly covered.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
- Let the brownies cool in the pan for at least 30 minutes before lifting them out and slicing into squares.
Notes
For fudgier brownies, do not overbake. Ensure eggs are at room temperature. For easier handling, chill Nutella dollops in the freezer for 10 minutes before placing in batter. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
