Description
A creamy, spicy, and easy 5-ingredient game day dip made with cream cheese, shredded chicken, buffalo sauce, ranch dressing, and cheddar cheese. Perfect for feeding a crowd with minimal prep time.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz (225g) full-fat block cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups (300g) shredded cooked chicken (rotisserie or canned, drained well)
- ½ cup (120ml) buffalo sauce (e.g., Frank’s RedHot)
- ½ cup (120ml) ranch dressing
- 1 cup (100g) sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 2 stalks green onions, sliced (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, soften the cream cheese using a fork or hand mixer until smooth.
- Add the ranch dressing and buffalo sauce to the cream cheese and stir vigorously until a uniform, creamy mixture forms.
- Fold in the shredded chicken and half of the shredded cheddar cheese.
- Transfer the mixture to a 9×9 inch baking dish and spread evenly.
- Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese on top.
- Bake for 15 minutes until the edges are bubbling and the cheese is melted and slightly golden.
- Optional: Broil for 1-2 minutes for a crispier top, watching closely to prevent burning.
- Let sit for 2 minutes to thicken, garnish with green onions, and serve warm.
Notes
Ensure chicken is thoroughly drained to prevent a watery dip. Use block cream cheese and shred your own cheddar for the smoothest texture. Can be made ahead by mixing ingredients (except top cheese) up to 24 hours in advance and refrigerating. For slow cooker method, cook on low for 2 hours.
