Description
A quick, 3-minute dairy-free iced matcha latte made with ceremonial grade matcha, oat milk, and raw honey. This drink provides steady, calm energy without the coffee jitters or afternoon crash.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1–2 teaspoons ceremonial grade matcha powder
- 2–3 tablespoons hot water (approx. 175°F / 80°C)
- 1–2 teaspoons raw honey
- 1 cup oat milk (cold)
- Ice cubes
- Optional: ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Bloom the matcha: Add matcha powder to a small bowl. Add hot water and whisk vigorously with an electric frother or bamboo whisk until a smooth, lump-free paste forms.
- Sweeten the base: While the paste is still warm, stir in the honey (and vanilla if using) until fully dissolved and uniform.
- Prep the glass: Fill a tall glass to the top with ice cubes.
- Pour the milk: Pour cold oat milk over the ice, leaving about an inch of space at the top.
- Combine: Pour the matcha-honey paste over the milk and stir gently but thoroughly until the drink is a uniform pale green color.
- Taste and adjust: Add more honey if too bitter or more milk if too sweet.
Notes
Do not use boiling water as it burns the matcha and makes it bitter. Aim for water around 175°F. For best results, use ceremonial grade matcha. You can pre-mix the matcha paste and honey in a jar and store in the fridge for up to 3 days for a faster morning routine.
