Description
A quick, creamy, and energizing breakfast shake made with cold brew coffee, frozen banana, and vanilla protein powder. It provides sustained energy without jitters and tastes like a dessert.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup (240ml) cold brew coffee
- 1 medium frozen banana (peeled and sliced, approx. 120g)
- 1 scoop (30g) vanilla protein powder (whey or plant-based)
- 1/2 cup (120ml) milk (almond, oat, or whole)
- 1 teaspoon natural sweetener (optional, e.g., honey or maple syrup)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4–5 ice cubes (only if banana is not frozen)
- Optional: 1 tablespoon nut butter, 1 tablespoon chocolate chips, or 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
- Prep the frozen banana by peeling and slicing a ripe banana, then freezing it for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- Pour the cold brew coffee and milk into the blender first to help the blades move freely.
- Add the frozen banana slices, protein powder, sweetener (if using), vanilla extract, and any optional add-ins.
- Secure the lid and blend on low speed, gradually increasing to high. Blend for 30-45 seconds until completely smooth and creamy.
- Taste and adjust sweetness or thickness by adding more sweetener, milk, or ice as needed.
- Pour into a tall glass and serve immediately. Top with cinnamon or chocolate chips if desired.
Notes
Use very ripe bananas for natural sweetness. Cold brew is preferred over hot coffee to prevent melting ice and maintain texture. Do not reheat the shake. Best enjoyed immediately; if stored, keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 24 hours and shake well before drinking.
