Description
A quick 10-minute dessert using refrigerated biscuit dough, air-fried to crispy perfection and coated in cinnamon sugar, served with a homemade chocolate dipping sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can (16 oz / 450g) refrigerated flaky biscuit dough
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon cream of tartar
- ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 370°F (190°C) for 3 minutes.
- Open the biscuit dough can and separate the biscuits. Cut large biscuits into quarters or halves to create 1-inch bite-sized pieces.
- In a shallow dish, mix the granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and cream of tartar until uniformly combined.
- Lightly brush each piece of biscuit dough with the melted butter.
- Toss the buttered dough pieces in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated. Shake off any excess sugar.
- Arrange the coated bites in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded.
- Air fry for 4 minutes, then flip the bites over.
- Continue cooking for another 2-4 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
- While the churros cook, combine the chocolate chips and heavy cream in a microwave-safe bowl.
- Microwave on high for 30 seconds, stir, then microwave for another 15 seconds if needed until smooth.
- Stir in the vanilla extract and salt until the sauce is glossy.
- Serve the churro bites immediately with the chocolate dipping sauce.
Notes
Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure crispiness. Flip the bites midway through cooking for even browning. Keep biscuit dough cold until ready to use. If the chocolate sauce is too thick, add more cream; if too thin, let it cool slightly.
